We’re thrilled to announce that our client Teal Health just received an SBIR grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and The National Institutes of Health (NIH) to continue developing their at-home cervical screening technology, which 94% of women surveyed already agree is better than an office exam.

We’ve mentioned previously that C42D loves to support the expansion of women’s health services. Teal Health is an incredible example of this mission in action, tackling cervical cancer prevention with their proprietary technology.

This $1.68 million SBIR grant is intended to support Teal Health’s efforts to further develop and validate their Teal WandTM tool. The Teal Wand allows women to collect their own sample for human papillomavirus (HPV) testing, in the privacy of their own home and at any time that’s convenient. Teal Health’s work doesn’t just provide compassionate care, but also helps power health equity.

Given that 1 in 4 women are not up-to-date on their Pap smears to screen for cervical cancer, Teal Health’s potential impact is huge.

Of all the brand agencies out there, why did Teal Health choose C42D?

We were on Teal Health’s radar after they saw our work with other major women’s health startups. They saw that we would help their brand stand out from the competition while also celebrating their unique story. Our shared values around social impact and purpose-driven branding meant we understood each other and enjoyed working together.

C42D’s partnership with Teal Health turned into a beautiful celebration of tenacity and womanhood. We’re proud to have helped Teal Health start telling their story.
